POST 347 WEBSITE:           We’ve been working on updating and creating new things on our website.  Visit this site at https://bintzler-waehler-post347.org or Google/Yahoo search “American Legion Post 347 Lomira WI”, then click on site.  We will also be presenting a short narration of how to get into the site and show what the site looks like at our next membership meeting Jan 18th, 2018, 6:30 PM at our meeting place at 425 S. Water Street  in Lomira.

OLD FLAG DROP BOX:   The box has been moved to the Lomira Municipal Complex in Lomira.  It is positioned at the entrance near the Library book drop box.  Our Flag Box is used for all flags from members and the community.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL:   Again, we did not qualify for any incentive drawings from the State or the District to get membership renewals in by specific dates.  This is sad!  Our membership year is from July 1st to June 30th and quite a few members wait until the year is almost over before renewing.  As of this date we have approximately 150 members renewed.  Our goal is 200.  This means about 40 plus members have not renewed yet.  We are nearing the end of the renewal deadline, so PLEASE, help our post to maintain 100%.

NEW MEMBERS:  We also have goals for new members as well.  If you know of someone that has been in the military and is eligible to join the American Legion, get their names and we can get them signed up.  You personally are eligible for awards on new members you sign up.

POST 347 CHRISTMAS PARTY: Our Christmas Party this year went very well and was enjoyed by approximately 45 people.  The party was held this year at the Brownsville Community Center.  We again were entertained by the Lomira High School Choral group and a few songs by a “barbershop” quartet.

FOUR CHAPLAINS DINNER:   Mark your calendars. This dinner is scheduled for February 3rd, 2018 at Grafton Post 35

Many things are still happening at our Post.  Attending our membership meetings is your privilege and opportunity to have a voice in all that is going on.    We need to find more fund raising events to continue with our obligations to the community and to fulfil our “Four Pillars” requirements.  Any ideas you may have are deeply appreciated.  If you can’t attend a meeting, call the commander or pass it along with another member.

Hope to see you at our next meeting.
